Rearview camera image does not come on or work properly (without navigation)

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- Check for B-CAN DTCs and resolve them before troubleshooting.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Turn on the audio unit, and check the audio display.

Does the audio display come on and show an image?

YES -

Go to step 3.

NO -

Go to Audio system information does not display on the audio display-USB adapter control unit troubleshooting Symptom Troubleshooting.

3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

4. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at audio display- USB adapter control unit connector A (32P) and the rearview camera 6P connector.

Are the connections or terminals OK?

YES -

Go to step 5.

NO -

Repair poor connections or loose terminals, and recheck.

5. Disconnect audio display-USB adapter control unit connector A (32P) and driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector H (13P).

6. Check for continuity between audio display-USB adapter control unit connector A (32P) terminals No. 28 and No. 29 and driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector H (13P) terminals No. 5 and No. 10 respectively.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 7.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire between the audio display-USB adapter control unit and the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.

7. Disconnect the rearview camera 6P connector.

8. Check for continuity between audio display-USB adapter control unit connector A (32P) and the rearview camera 6P connector according to the table.

















Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 9.

NO -

There is an open in the wire(s) between the audio display-USB adapter control unit and the rearview camera. Replace the affected shielded harness.

9. Check for continuity between the terminals of audio display-USB adapter control unit connector A (32P) according to the table.









Is there continuity between any of the terminals?

YES -

There is a short in the wires between the audio display-USB adapter control unit and the rearview camera. Replace the affected shielded harness.

NO -

Go to step 10.

10. Check for continuity between audio display-USB adapter control unit connector A (32P) and body ground according to the table.









Is there continuity?

YES -

There is a short in the wire(s) between the audio display-USB adapter control unit and the rearview camera. Replace the affected shielded harness.

NO -

Go to step 11.

11. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

12. Measure the voltage between audio display-USB adapter control unit connector A (32P) and body ground according to the table.









Is there 0.5 V or more?

YES -

There is a short to power in the wire(s) between the audio display-USB adapter control unit and the rearview camera, Replace the affected shielded harness.

NO -

Go to step 13.

13. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

14. Reconnect audio display-USB adapter control unit connector A (32P).

15. Substitute a known-good rearview camera Rearview Camera Removal/Installation (Without Navigation).

16. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and check the rearview camera image in shift lever position is R.

Is the rearview image OK?

YES -

Replace the original rearview camera Rearview Camera Removal/Installation (Without Navigation).

NO -

Replace the audio display-USB adapter control unit Audio Display-USB Adapter Control Unit Removal/Installation.
