A/T Differential Backlash Inspection (6-Speed A/T)

A/T Differential Backlash Inspection

1. Remove the final driven gear from the differential carrier A/T Differential Carrier and Final Driven Gear Replacement (6-Speed A/T).

2. Install both axles into the differential assembly (A) and place the axles on V-blocks (B).





3. Measure the backlash of the pinion gears (C) with a dial indicator (D).





4. If the backlash is out of the standard, replace the differential assembly.

5. Install the final driven gear on the differential carrier A/T Differential Carrier and Final Driven Gear Replacement (6-Speed A/T).
