DTC Troubleshooting: B1C60

DTC B1C60:

Driver's Heater Current Abnormal High

NOTE:

- If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.
- The seat heater control unit does not turn on the seat heater until the seat core temperature is 85 degrees or less. Make sure the seat core temperature is below 85 degrees before troubleshooting.

1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).

3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B1C60 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 4.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the circuit is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections between the seat heater control unit and the driver's seat heater.

4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

5. Disconnect driver's seat heater connector A (5P).

6. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

7. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

8. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B1C60 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 9.

NO -

Go to step 12.

9. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

10. Disconnect the seat heater control unit 14P connector.

11. Check for continuity between seat heater control unit 14P connector terminal No. 7 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to ground in the wire.

NO -

Replace the seat heater control unit Service and Repair.

12. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

13. Disconnect driver's seat heater connector B (2P).

14. Check for continuity between driver's seat heater connector A (5P) terminal No. 1 and body ground.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to ground in the wire.

NO -

Go to step 15.

15. Reconnect driver's seat heater connector A (5P).

16. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

17. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

18. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B1C60 indicated?

YES -

Replace the driver's seat cushion heater.

NO -

Replace the driver's seat-back heater.
