DTC Troubleshooting: B1C61

DTC B1C61:

Driver's Heater Current Abnormal Low

NOTE:

- If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.
- The seat heater control unit does not turn on the seat heater until the seat core temperature is 85 degrees or less. Make sure the seat core temperature is below 85 degrees before troubleshooting.

1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).

3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B1C61 indicated?

YES -

Go to step 4.

NO -

Intermittent failure, the circuit is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections between the seat heater control unit and the driver's seat heater.

4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

5. Disconnect driver's seat heater connector A (5P).

6. Connect driver's seat heater connector A (5P) terminal No. 2 to body ground with a jumper wire.






7. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

8. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

9. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B1C61 indicated?

YES -

Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between driver's seat heater connector A (5P) terminal No. 2 and seat heater control unit 14P connector terminal No. 7.

NO -

Go to step 10.

10. Measure the resistance between driver's seat heater connector A (5P) terminals No. 2 and No. 5.





Is there more than 6.1Ohms?

YES -

Replace the driver's seat cushion heater.

NO -

Go to step 11.

11. Disconnect driver's seat heater connector B (2P).

12. Check for continuity between driver's seat heater connector A (5P) terminal No. 1 and driver's seat heater connector B (2P) terminal No. 1.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 13.

NO -

Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.

13. Check for continuity between body ground and driver's seat heater connector A (5P) terminal No. 5.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 14.

NO -

Repair an open or high resistance in the wire or poor ground (G503).

14. Check for continuity between body ground and driver's seat heater connector B (2P) terminal No. 2.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Replace the driver's seat-back heater.

NO -

Repair an open or high resistance in the wire or poor ground (G503).
