DTC Troubleshooting: B2634
DTC B2634:
Rear Bus Failure
NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.
1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B2634 indicated?
YES -
Go to step 4.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
5. Swap the left rear corner sensor and the front corner sensor.
6. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
7. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
8. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
9. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B2634 indicated?
YES -
Go to step 10.
NO -
Replace the left rear corner sensor Rear Corner Sensor Replacement.
10. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
11. Swap the left rear center sensor and the front corner sensor.
12. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
13. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
14. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
15. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B2634 indicated?
YES -
Go to step 16.
NO -
Replace the left rear center sensor Rear Center Sensor Replacement.
16. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
17. Swap the right rear center sensor and the front corner sensor.
18. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
19. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
20. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
21. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B2634 indicated?
YES -
Go to step 22.
NO -
Replace the right rear center sensor Rear Center Sensor Replacement.
22. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
23. Swap the right rear corner sensor and the front corner sensor.
24. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
25. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
26. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
27. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B2634 indicated?
YES -
Go to step 28.
NO -
Replace the right rear corner sensor Rear Corner Sensor Replacement.
28. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
29. Disconnect the right rear corner sensor 6P connector.
30. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
31. Measure the voltage between right rear corner sensor 6P connector terminal No. 6 and body ground.
Is there about 8 V?
YES -
Go to step 32.
NO -
Go to step 36
32. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
33. Disconnect the parking and back-up sensor control unit 24P connector.
34. Check for continuity between parking and back-up sensor control unit 24P connector terminal No. 5 and right rear corner sensor 6P connector terminal No. 4.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to step 35.
NO -
Go to step 57.
35. Check for continuity between right rear corner sensor 6P connector terminal No. 4 and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to step 63.
NO -
Go to step 69.
36. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
37. Disconnect the right rear center sensor 6P connector.
38. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
39. Measure the voltage between right rear center sensor 6P connector terminal No. 6 and body ground.
Is there about 8 V?
YES -
Go to step 51.
NO -
Go to step 40.
40. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
41. Disconnect the left rear center sensor 6P connector.
42. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
43. Measure the voltage between left rear center sensor 6P connector terminal No. 6 and body ground.
Is there about 8 V?
YES -
Go to step 53.
NO -
Go to step 44.
44. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
45. Disconnect the left rear corner sensor 6P connector.
46. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
47. Measure the voltage between left rear corner sensor 6P connector terminal No. 6 and body ground.
Is there about 8 V?
YES -
Go to step 55.
NO -
Go to step 48.
48. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
49. Disconnect the parking and back-up sensor control unit 24P connector.
50. Check for continuity between left rear corner sensor 6P connector terminal No. 6 and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair a short to ground in the wire between the left rear corner sensor and the parking and back-up sensor control unit.
NO -
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the left rear corner sensor and the parking and back-up sensor control unit.
51. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
52. Check for continuity between right rear corner sensor 6P connector terminal No. 6 and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair a short to ground in the wire between the right rear corner sensor and the right rear center sensor.
NO -
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the right rear corner sensor and the right rear center sensor.
53. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
54. Check for continuity between right rear center sensor 6P connector terminal No. 6 and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair a short to ground in the wire between the right rear center sensor and the left rear center sensor.
NO -
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the right rear center sensor and the left rear center sensor.
55. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
56. Check for continuity between left rear center sensor 6P connector terminal No. 6 and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair a short to ground in the wire between the left rear center sensor and the left rear corner sensor.
NO -
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the left rear center sensor and the left rear corner sensor.
57. Disconnect the right rear center sensor 6P connector.
58. Check for continuity between right rear corner sensor 6P connector terminal No. 4 and right rear center sensor 6P connector terminal No. 3.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to step 59.
NO -
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the right rear corner sensor and the right rear center sensor.
59. Disconnect the left rear center sensor 6P connector.
60. Check for continuity between right rear center sensor 6P connector terminal No. 4 and left rear center sensor 6P connector terminal No. 3.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to step 61.
NO -
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the right rear center sensor and the left rear center sensor.
61. Disconnect the left rear corner sensor 6P connector.
62. Check for continuity between left rear center sensor 6P connector terminal No. 4 and left rear corner sensor 6P connector terminal No. 3.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the left rear corner sensor and the parking and back-up sensor control unit.
NO -
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the left rear center sensor and the left rear corner sensor.
63. Disconnect the right rear center sensor 6P connector.
64. Check for continuity between right rear corner sensor 6P connector terminal No. 4 and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair a short to ground in the wire between the right rear corner sensor and the right rear center sensor.
NO -
Go to step 65.
65. Disconnect the left rear center sensor 6P connector.
66. Check for continuity between right rear center sensor 6P connector terminal No. 4 and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair a short to ground in the wire between the right rear center sensor and the left rear center sensor.
NO -
Go to step 67.
67. Disconnect the left rear corner sensor 6P connector.
68. Check for continuity between left rear center sensor 6P connector terminal No. 4 and body ground.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair a short to ground in the wire between the left rear center sensor and the left rear corner sensor.
NO -
Repair a short to ground in the wire between the left rear corner sensor and the parking and back-up sensor control unit.
69. Disconnect the right rear center sensor 6P connector.
70. Check for continuity between right rear corner sensor 6P connector terminal No. 2 and right rear center sensor 6P connector terminal No. 1.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to step 71.
NO -
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the right rear corner sensor and the right rear center sensor.
71. Disconnect the left rear center sensor 6P connector.
72. Check for continuity between right rear center sensor 6P connector terminal No. 2 and left rear center sensor 6P connector terminal No. 1.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to step 73.
NO -
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the right rear center sensor and the left rear center sensor.
73. Disconnect the left rear corner sensor 6P connector.
74. Check for continuity between left rear center sensor 6P connector terminal No. 2 and left rear corner sensor 6P connector terminal No. 1.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the left rear corner sensor and the parking and back-up sensor control unit.
NO -
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the left rear center sensor and the left rear corner sensor.
