Audio Unit Removal/Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations, and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
- Lay a workshop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage.
- Eject all the discs before removing the audio unit to prevent damaging the CD/DVD player's load mechanism.
- If you are replacing the audio unit, write down the audio presets (if possible), and enter them into the new audio unit.
- Make sure you have the 5-digit anti-theft code.

1. Remove these items:

- Dashboard center panel Dashboard Center Panel Removal/Installation
- Center pocket Dashboard Center Pocket Removal/Installation
- Audio switch panel (with rear entertainment) Audio Switch Panel Removal/Installation

2. Remove the bolts (A), then pull out the audio unit (B).





3. Disconnect the audio unit connectors and climate control unit connectors, then remove the audio unit.

NOTE: When you disconnect audio unit connector A, while pushing the tab (C), pull the lever (D) up, and disconnect the connector.

4. Remove the bolts (A) and the brackets (B) from the audio unit, then remove the screws and the climate control unit (C).






5. Remove the screws, then remove the center panel (A) from the audio unit (B).






6. Install the audio unit in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- Make sure all the connectors and the antenna lead are secure.
- Enter anti-theft codes for the audio system.
- Set the clock.

7. Give the new anti-theft code to the customer if the audio unit is replaced.
