Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations, and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
- Lay a workshop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage.
- Eject all the discs before removing the audio-navigation unit to prevent damaging the CD/DVD player's load mechanism.
- If you are replacing the audio-navigation unit, write down the audio presets (if possible), and enter them into the new audio-navigation unit.
- Make sure you have the 5-digit anti-theft code.

1. Remove the dashboard center panel Dashboard Center Panel Removal/Installation and navigation switch panel Service and Repair.

2. Remove the bolts (A), then pull out the audio-navigation unit (B).





3. Disconnect the audio-navigation unit connectors and climate control unit connectors, then remove the audio-navigation unit.

NOTE: When you disconnect audio unit connector A, while pushing the tab (C), pull the lever (D) up, and disconnect the connector.

4. Remove the bolts (A) and the brackets (B) from the audio-navigation unit, then remove the screws and the climate control unit (C).






5. Remove the screws, then remove the center panel (A) from the audio-navigation unit (B).





6. If you are replacing the audio-navigation unit, remove the HDD from the original audio-navigation unit, and install it in the replacement audio-navigation unit HDD Removal/Installation.

NOTE: To avoid damaging the audio-navigation unit or HDD:

- Do not remove the HDD with any of the audio-navigation unit connectors connected.
- Do not power up the audio-navigation unit without the HDD installed.

7. Install the audio-navigation unit in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE: Check any official Honda service website for more information about patches for the navigation system. Apply any prescribed patches to the new audio-navigation unit.

8. Park the vehicle outside, and do the GPS Initialization.

9. Give the new anti-theft code to the customer if the audio-navigation unit is replaced.
