Dashboard Replacement
Special Tools Required
- KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard, the body, or the related parts.
- Take care not to bend the brackets.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure Battery Terminal Disconnection And Reconnection, then wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
2. Remove these items from the dashboard area:
- A-pillar trims, both sides
- Kick panels, both sides
- Center panels Dashboard Center Panel Removal/Installation
- Instrument panel Instrument Panel Removal/Installation
- Driver's dashboard lower cover Driver's Dashboard Lower Cover Removal/Installation
- Center upper panel Dashboard Center Upper Panel Removal/Installation
- Center pocket Dashboard Center Pocket Removal/Installation
- Passenger's dashboard trim Passenger's Dashboard Trim Removal/Installation
- Passenger's tray Service and Repair
- Glove box Service and Repair
- Glove box striker Service and Repair
- Passenger's dashboard undercover Passenger's Dashboard Undercover Removal/Installation
- Center console Center Console Removal/Installation
- Gauge control module Service and Repair
- With navigation: Audio-Navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation
- Without navigation: Audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation
- With navigation: Navigation display unit Service and Repair
- Without navigation, with USB adapter: Audio display-USB adapter control unit Audio Display-USB Adapter Control Unit Removal/Installation
- Without navigation and USB adapter: Audio-HVAC display unit Audio-HVAC Display Unit Removal/Installation
- With climate control: Sunlight sensor Service and Repair

- Front passenger's airbag Front Passenger's Airbag Replacement
- With navigation: GPS antenna Service and Repair
- TPMS control unit Service and Repair.
- Tweeter grille (if equipped) Speaker Test/Replacement.
3. Remove the parking brake lever bracket mounting bolt, then lower the lever (A).
4. From the front of the dashboard, detach the harness clip (A).
5. Detach the harness clips (A) from the center area of the dashboard.
6. Remove the bolts securing the dashboard (A).
7. With an assistant holding the dashboard (A) up, detach the dashboard wire harness clips (B) from the right side of the dashboard duct, then carefully remove the dashboard through the front door opening.

8. If necessary, from the back of the dashboard (A), remove the screws, then remove the dashboard duct (B) from the dashboard.

9. If necessary, from the back of the dashboard (A), remove the screws, then remove the dashboard defroster duct (B) from the dashboard.
10. Install the dashboard in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Before tightening the bolt, make sure the dashboard wire harness is not pinched.
- Make sure the dashboard fits onto the guide pins correctly.
- Replace the passenger's airbag mounting bolts and the nuts with new ones.
- Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly.
- Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure Battery Terminal Disconnection And Reconnection.
- Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them.
