Front Seat-Back Cover Replacement

Do the OPDS sensor initialization after front passenger's seat-back cover replacement.
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to tear or damage the seat covers.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Passenger's seat: Do not touch the OPDS sensor in the seat-back cover/pad, and keep it away from oil. Oil can corrode the sensor causing it to fail.
1. Remove the front seat Front Seat Removal/Installation.
2. From under the seat cushion, release the elastic strap (A) from the seat cushion frame springs (B), then pull back the undercover (C) of the seat-back cover.
3. From under the seat cushion, detach the harness clips (A) from the seat cushion frame, then disconnect the these connectors:
- Driver's seat:
- Side airbag connector (B)
- Recline motor harness connector (C) (8-way power seat)
- Seat-back heater connector (D) (8-way power seat)
- Passenger's seat:
- Side airbag connector (B)
- Recline motor harness connector (C) (4-way power seat)

4. Remove the screws and release the hooks (A) by pulling the bottom of the back cover (B) back, then gently pull down the cover to release the hooks (C) from the seat-back frame, and remove the cover.
5. Release the hook strips (A), then loosen the upper and side edges of the seat-back cover (B).
6. Remove the clips and release the hook strip (A), then loosen the lower edge of the seat-back cover (B).
7. Detach the harness clips (A), then pull the side airbag wire harnesses (B) out through the harness hole (C) in the seat-back cover (D). The 8-way power seat is shown; other types of the seats are similar.
8. Remove the nuts, then release the side airbag module from the seat-back frame.
9. Passenger's seat: Turn over the seat-back cover (A). Release the hooks (B), then remove the ODS unit cover (C). Disconnect the OPDS sensor connectors (D) and the seat wire harness connector (E).
10. Passenger's seat: Detach the harness clips (A) fastening the OPDS sensor harnesses (B), then remove them.
11. Passenger's seat: Detach the harness clip (A), then remove the seat wire harness (B) through the hole (C) in the seat frame.
12. Pinch the tabs on the head restraint guides (A), and remove them from the seat-back.
13. Remove the seat-back cover/pad (A) from the seat-back frame (B).
14. Pull back the edge of the seat-back cover (A) all the way around, and release the upholstery rings (B), then remove the seat-back cover.
15. Install the cover in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- To prevent wrinkles when installing a seat-back cover, make sure the material is stretched evenly over the pad before securing the clips, the hooks, and the hook strips.
- Replace all of the upholstery rings (A) fastening the seat-back cover (B) and the pad wire (C) with new ones using commercially available upholstery ring pliers (D).
- Use only original Honda replacement seat-back covers.
- Make sure the recline motor harness/lumbar support motor harness (driver's seat) or the recline motor harness (power seat), the side airbag harness, the seat-back heater harness, the OPDS sensor harness and the seat wire harness (passenger's seat) are routed properly.
- Before installing the side airbag (E), make sure the reinforcing cloth (F) is fixed on the seat-back frame (G) securely.
