Front Seat Removal/Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.
Do the ODS unit initialization Programming and Relearning after front passenger's seat replacement.
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the body or tear the seat covers.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.
1. Tilt the steering wheel all the way up, and telescope it all the way in.
2. Slide the front seat all the way forward, and adjust the seat to its maximum height. Carefully pry up on the bottom of the anchor cover (A) to release the tab (B) using the appropriate trim tool from below inside the recline cover (C). Remove the cover.
3. Adjust the seat to its minimum height, then remove the lower anchor bolt (A).
4. Slide the seat all the way forward and remove the rear outer seat track end cover (A) and the rear inner seat track end cover (B).
5. Remove the bolts.
6. Slide the seat all the way back, and remove the front outer seat track end cover (A) and the front inner seat track end cover (B).
7. Remove the bolts.
8. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure Battery Terminal Disconnection And Reconnection, then wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
9. Lift up the front seat, then disconnect the power seat harness connector (A), the floor wire harness connector (B) (with DPMS) and the side airbag connector (C).

10. Remove the head restraint.
11. With the help of an assistant, carefully remove the front seat through the front door opening.
12. Install the seat in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Make sure the seat harnesses are routed correctly.
- Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the seat belt anchor bolts before reinstallation.
- Tighten the seat mounting bolts to the specified torque in the sequence shown. Slide the seat all the way back and tighten (1) and (2), then slide it forward and tighten (3) and (4).
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
- Tighten the bolts by hand first, then tighten them to the specification torque.
- Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure Battery Terminal Disconnection And Reconnection.
- Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them.
