Light switch turned on, the cruise control combination switch illumination does not come on

Check the No. 14 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box.

Check the cruise control combination switch Testing and Inspection.

Also check for

Open circuit, loose or disconnected terminals: LT BLU, GRY, BLU, or YEL wire (with HandsFreeLink), LT BLU, YEL wire (without HandsFreeLink)
