Rear Differential Backlash Inspection

NOTICE
Connecting battery voltage to either the right or left clutch electromagnetic coils for more than 3 minutes will damage the rear differential.

1. Install the left rear driveshaft.

2. At the left clutch electromagnetic coil side, connect left clutch electromagnetic coil 2P connector (A) terminal No. 1 to the battery positive terminal, and connect the terminal No. 2 to the battery negative terminal.






3. Check the backlash of the companion flange (B) with a dial indicator (C).

Standard: 1.23-2.38 mm (0.048-0.094 in)

4. If the backlash is not within the standard, replace the rear differential.
