Liftgate Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the liftgate.
2. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Liftgate (Trim Panel Replacement - Liftgate) .
3. Remove the wiring harness. Refer to Wiring Harness Replacement - Liftgate (Wiring Harness Replacement - Liftgate) .
4. Disconnect the wiper washer hose.
5. Remove the liftgate struts. Refer to Strut Replacement - Liftgate (Service and Repair) .




6. With an assistant securing the liftgate, remove the bolts (1) retaining the liftgate to the liftgate hinge.
7. With the aid of an assistant, remove the liftgate from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure

1. Transfer components, as necessary, from liftgate being replaced to liftgate being installed.
2. With the aid of an assistant, install the liftgate to the vehicle.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the bolts (1) that retain the liftgate to the liftgate hinge.

Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

4. Install the liftgate struts. Refer to Strut Replacement - Liftgate (Service and Repair) .
5. Connect the wiper washer hose.
6. Install the wiring harness to the liftgate. Refer to Wiring Harness Replacement - Liftgate (Wiring Harness Replacement - Liftgate) .
7. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Liftgate (Trim Panel Replacement - Liftgate) .
