Trailer Hitch Replacement (SUT)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the rear bumper. Refer toBumper Replacement - Rear (SUT) (Bumper Replacement - Rear (SUT))Bumper Replacement - Rear (SUV) (Bumper Replacement - Rear (SUV)) in Bumpers.
2. Remove the bolts (4) from the trailer hitch to frame (5).




3. Remove the 2 bolts (1) from the rear edge of the air suspension compressor bracket (2).
4. Disconnect the electrical harness conduit from the inside of the trailer hitch.




5. With the aid of an assistant, remove the trailer hitch from the frame rail.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the trailer hitch to the rear frame rail.

Notice: Refer toFastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the 2 forward bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 100 Nm (74 lb ft).





3. Install the 2 bolts (1) to the rear edge of the air suspension compressor bracket (2).

Tighten the bolts to 85 Nm (63 lb ft).

4. Re-secure the electrical harness conduit to the inner surface of the trailer hitch.
5. Install the rear bumper. Refer toBumper Replacement - Rear (SUT) (Bumper Replacement - Rear (SUT))Bumper Replacement - Rear (SUV) (Bumper Replacement - Rear (SUV)) in Bumpers.
