Latch/Support Cable Assembly Replacement - Endgate

Removal Procedure

1. Replace one cable at a time to ensure the endgate is not contacting the rear bumper.
2. Open the spare tire carrier.
3. Open the endgate.




4. Disconnect the cable from the body cable bolt.




5. Remove the lower endgate shouldered latch bolt (1) from the latch assembly (3).
6. Remove the endgate cable (2) from the latch.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the endgate cable to the lower latch assembly.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Ensure the shouldered bolt (1) is used on the latch cable assembly end.

Tighten the bolt to 25 Nm (19 lb ft).

3. Raise the endgate in order to secure the cable assembly (2) to the endgate box rail bolt.




4. Secure the cable.
5. Repeat for the other side.
6. Close the endgate.
7. Latch and secure the spare tire carrier.
