Handle Replacement - Endgate

Removal Procedure

1. Swing the spare tire carrier to the full outward position.




2. Remove the trim panel bezel from the endgate.
3. Open the endgate.




4. Release the 2 lock rod retaining clips (4, 5) from the lock rods (1, 3).
5. Release the lock rods from the handle assembly.




6. Remove the 3 screws from the handle.
7. Rotate the handle downward.
8. Remove the handle from the endgate.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the handle to the endgate.
2. Loosely install the fasteners.




3. Connect the lock rods (1, 3) to the handle assembly (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Connect the lock rod clips (4, 5).

Tighten the endgate handle bolts to 25 Nm (19 lb in).





5. Secure the trim panel bezel to the endgate. Lift the handle slightly to assist in bezel installation.
6. Secure the bezel clips.
7. Close the endgate.
8. Latch and secure the spare tire carrier.
