MAP POCKET REPLACEMENT

CONDITION:

The replacement Map Pocket for Sonatas produced between 4-22-91 and 9-10-93, has been changed. A slight modification must be made to the Door Trim Panel to fit the new Map Pocket. The mounting snaps have been changed to screws. Seven screws must be ordered to attach each new Map Pocket.





On the new Map Pocket, the number 5 hole has been moved closer to the speaker. When replacing this part, the Door Trim Panel must be modified to match the new location of the mounting hole.





The number 5 hole in the Door Trim Panel must be slotted before installing the Map Pocket. To do this, use a round file to enlarge the hole to 5 mm. File the hole 5 mm forward toward the speaker. Take care to file from the front of the Door Trim Panel to avoid damaging the vinyl covering.

The metal trim clip brace will need to be filed or trimmed as well. Either use the file, or lift the corner and trim the brace with a pair of tin snips or a sharp set of diagonal cutters. Use the screws to attach the Map Pocket to the Door Trim Panel.
