Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Code Identification

NOTE:
Other symbols will be used as new plastics are developed. Most paint suppliers can identify unknown symbols. If trouble is encountered with an unknown symbol, contact your Hyundai Field Technical Representative, who can obtain and provide the plastic "FAMILY" name, as well as make sure the new symbol is included in future revisions of this TSB.

Symbols For Filler and Reinforcing Materials and
Commonly Used Elastomeric Basis Polymers (As per ISO 1629)

USAGE OF SYMBOLS

The plastic part identification symbols can be used in conjunction with a plastic painting procedure to properly paint plastic parts. Use the correct procedure for the brand of paint to be applied. Excerpts from the PPG and BASF procedures are shown as examples. See your paint jobber for the correct procedures.
