EFFECTIVE DATE:
Elantra vehicles produced from July 1, 1993 to June 20, 1994

REQUIRED PARTS

1. Low viscosity PAG oil or equivalent (see chart)

2. PAG oil injector - J 41451

CAUTION
Do not use ester oils! Do not use high viscosity PAG oils as damage to internal components may occur.

PROCEDURE

CAUTION
Always wear gloves and eye protection when working with refrigerant. See General Service Instructions in section 97 of the shop manual for complete safety precautions.

1. Remove air from the oil injector by adding oil to the reservoir bottle and pumping the plunger until the injector is completely filled with oil. Push plunger to the full down position.

2. Engine must be off.

3. Fill the oil reservoir bottle with more than two ounces of refrigerant oil.

4. Open the cap of the high pressure side service port on the liquid tube.

5. Connect the oil injection tool to the high pressure side service port.

6. Note the amount of oil in the reservoir. Pump two ounces of refrigerant oil into the high pressure side service port.

7. Disconnect it from the high pressure side service port.

8. Install the cap of the high pressure side service port.

NOTE
The surplus refrigerant oil in the reservoir must be stored in a sealed container, because the oil absorbs moisture from the atmosphere at a rapid rate.
