Receiver Dryer: Testing and Inspection
RECEIVER/DRIERINSPECTION
1. Check the fusible plug and the fittings for leakage, using a leak detector.
2. Run the engine at fast idle with the air conditioning "ON" and check both the inlet and outlet temperatures. If the difference in temperatures between the inlet and outlet is large, replace the receiver-drier.
NOTE:
- Plug all the open fittings immediately to keep moisture out of the system.
- Do not remove plugs until ready for connection.
- If the receiver-drier is replaced with a new unit, add 40 cc of compressor oil to the compressor.
- Evacuate, charge and test the refrigeration system.
