Automatic Reprogramming Procedure

AUTOMATIC REPROGRAMMING PROCEDURE:

Internet Update:

Select the Internet Update to check that your GDS has Local Version 1.36 or higher.

Shown is an example of an Internet Update available to Server Version 1.22 with the current GDS Local Version at 1.20. The Download Start button is available to conduct an internet update.

1. Enter the vehicle information either automatically by pressing the VIN Auto Detect button or manually by entering the vehicle model, model year, and selecting ENGINE as the system.

2. Select ECU Upgrade.

3. Select Auto Mode then ENGINE at the left ECU Upgrade column and you will get the screen above.

4. After touching OK it will read the ROM ID as shown.

5. After the Current ROM ID is displayed select the appropriate upgrade event based on vehicle model and engine:

^ Upgrade Event # 89 for CM Santa Fe 2.7L

^ Upgrade Event # 92 for TG Azera 3.8L (shown in below example)

^ Upgrade Event # 93 for TG Azera 3.3L

^ Upgrade Event # 94 for EN Veracruz 3.8L

^ Upgrade Event # 95 for 2008 NF Sonata 3.3L

^ Upgrade Event # 99 for 2006-2007 NF Sonata 3.3L

6. After selecting the Upgrade button select OK at the screen shown.

7. The vehicle battery voltage is checked to make sure it's at least 12 volts as required to assure reliable reprogramming results. Select OK at this screen if the results indicate Voltage is OK.

WARNING:
If voltage is below 12 volts then select Cancel; run the engine for 10 minutes at idle and select OK again at the previous screen to check that battery voltage then exceeds 12 volts.

8. Reprogramming will begin and progress of the reprogramming will appear on the bar graph.

9. When 100% is reached on the bar graph it is not finished; you must then wait until the next screen which indicates reprogramming is complete.

10. Check for any engine or transmission section diagnostic trouble codes (DTCS) and erase any trouble codes present.

11. Turn the vehicle ignition switch OFF for about 20 seconds and then start the engine to confirm proper operation of the vehicle.
