Transaxle Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are found in the following menus:

^ "Engine" - 1999 MY Sonata 2.4L.

^ "Automatic Transaxle" - All others

DESCRIPTION:

2006 Sonata vehicles equipped with 3.3L V6 engines may have a slotted hole on the bottom surface of the stamped starter shroud just above the engine oil pan near the right front of the vehicle. This condition is normal and it does not affect vehicle operation. No action is required to fill the hole.

NOTE:
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ADD A BOLT OR OTHER COMPONENT TO FILL THE HOLE. Check for DTCs in both "Engine" and "Automatic Transaxle" menus. When canceling DTCs, it is necessary to cancel codes separately in both menus.

DTC information can be found in the shop manuals and TSBS listed.
