Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable: Service and Repair
CLOCK SPRING REPLACEMENT1. Disconnect the negative battery cable, and wait at least 30 seconds before beginning work.
2. Remove the DAB.
3. Remove the steering wheel.
4. After disconnecting the lock pins (A), disconnect the connectors (B).
5. Loosen the mounting screw (C), then remove the clock spring (D).
6. Installation : verify steering wheel is straight ahead, tires straight ahead.
7. Center clock spring.
8. Install Clock spring, turn wheel check for binding. Complete installation in reverse order of removal.
NOTE: After installing the clock spring, confirm proper system operation; Turn the ignition switch ON: the SRS indicator light should blink for about 6 seconds and then go off.
Rotate the steering wheel from lock to lock and recheck.
