HI SCAN PRO HARDWARE ISSUE - FALSE
CONTROL AREA NETWORK (CAN)
DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

DESCRIPTION:

The Hi-Scan Pro Diagnostic tool may incorrectly display Control Area Network (CAN) diagnostic codes during diagnosis of 4WD Tucson vehicles.

^ The Hi-Scan Pro may display some of the codes that are being communicated through the CAN line such as C1213, C1611, C1612, C1613, P1764, P1765, P1767, etc., when no instrument panel warning lamp is illuminated.

^ The above CAN DTCs may be erased, but they re-appear when the Hi-Scan Pro is reconnected.

^ After correcting a non-CAN DTC and while confirming the work, the Hi-Scan Pro may display some of the CAN codes.

^ The Hi-Scan Pro may display some of the above CAN historic codes during vehicle PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) when no vehicle problem exists.

If any of the above symptoms is experienced, it may be the result of a hardware malfunction with the Hi-Scan Pro.

To repair the Hi-Scan Pro, please contact Nextech at:

Nextech America, Inc.

Phone: (714) 832-0100

NOTE:
Until a replacement Hi-Scan Pro is available, the Hi-Scan Pro may be used for diagnostics by erasing false CAN codes in the order of 1) Engine, 2) Transmission, and then 3) Other codes. Release the vehicle after making sure that no warning lamp is illuminated with the Hi-Scan Pro disconnected (DO NOT RECHECK THE CAN CODES WITH THIS HI-SCAN PRO WHICH HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED).
