DESCRIPTION:

If a 2007MY Entourage exhibits a buzz or hum noise from the fuel pump, this bulletin provides a procedure to install a plastic tie band to the fuel pump module housing to reduce the transmitted noise.

VEHICLES AFFECTED:
Model: Entourage (EP) - 2007MY - ALL

Production Date Range: February 15, 2006 - October 19, 2006

SERVICE PROCEDURE:

1. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal on the battery.





2. Gain access to the fuel pump service panel by removing the left side 2nd row seat.





3. Remove the fuel pump service panel (A).





4. Disconnect the fuel feed line (B), the fuel pump power connector (C), and the fuel tank pressure sensor connector (D).





5. Remove the fuel pump rubber seal (E) to gain access to the fuel pump lock ring.





6. Place a mark on the lock ring and on the fuel tank body using a marker or paint pen (E1). Loosen (counter-clockwise) the fuel pump lock ring (F) using Hyundai SST - J-48889 (Fuel Pump Removal Kit).





7. Remove the fuel pump module from the vehicle.





NOTE:
The fuel pump assembly may contain residual fuel in the pump housing. Please take special care not to spill fuel inside the vehicle.





8. Locate the hole (G) just above the fuel sending unit. Route the plastic tie band through the hole and around the fuel return line and tighten. Trim any excess after tightening.

NOTE:
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN - possible collapse of the fuel return line may occur.





9. Install all parts removed in reverse order.

NOTE:
Lock Ring Torque Specification:





10. Tighten by turning the lock ring (clockwise) 1-1/2 turns making sure that the mark made on the lock ring (from step 6) matches the mark on the fuel tank body (H).
