INTERMITTENT NO CRANK/NO START CONDITION
DESCRIPTION:
This bulletin provides procedures to diagnose and repair an Entourage with an intermittent no crank/no start condition.
NOTE:
Please refer to the service manual page EE-31 ("Starting Systems Troubleshooting") section before beginning this procedure.

Production Date Range: February 15, 2006 - April 18, 2007
SERVICE PROCEDURE:
THEFT ALARM RELAY INSPECTION:
NOTE:
Vehicle must have a "no crank" condition for this inspection to be valid.
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the driver's side access panel (A).
3. Remove the parking brake release lever (B) by removing a screw located behind the parking brake lever.
4. Remove the fuse cover access panel (C)
5. Remove the 6 lower panel mounting screws.
6. Disconnect all connectors (D) from the lower panel switch assembly.
7. Remove the lower panel mounting bracket by loosening the 3 (10 mm) nuts (E).
8. Remove the 2 upper mounting 10 mm bolts just above the IPM module (E1) and slightly move the metal bracket to gain access to the IPM connector.
9. Locate the IPM module (F) and disconnect the "BEC-IF connector (G) from the module.
10. Re-install the negative battery terminal.
11. Locate PIN 10 (H) on the IPM module and measure the voltage using a mutimeter at PIN 10 while turning the ignition key to the start position (cranking position)
NOTE:
The engine will not start.
NOTE:
If the voltage at PIN 10 is 0 volts, replace the IPM module assembly with the corresponding part number provided in this TSB.
NOTE:
If voltage is present at PIN 10 (~12 volts), no further action is required.
12. Install all parts in reverse order.
13. Reference - IPM Module BEC-IF "PIN 10" location.
IPM ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal after step 11 in the inspection procedure is completed.
2. Disconnect the 3 connectors on the front of the IPM module (I).
3. Remove the 3 IPM module mounting nuts that secure the IPM to the bracket (J).
4. Disconnect the 2 remaining wire connectors on the rear of the IPM module (K).
5. Install the new IPM module. Install all other parts in reverse order.
NOTE:
Please refer to the part information table when ordering the new part.
6. Reprogram keyless entry remotes to new IPM module.
