CAMPAIGN T34 - ENTOURAGE OIL CONTROL VALVE INSPECTION AND/OR REPLACEMENT

IMPORTANT:
DEALERS MUST PERFORM THIS CAMPAIGN ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES PRIOR TO CUSTOMER RETAIL DELIVERY.

IMPORTANT:
WHEN A VEHICLE ARRIVES AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, ACCESS HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA'S "WARRANTY VEHICLE INFORMATION" SCREEN VIA DCS ON-LINE TO IDENTIFY OPEN CAMPAIGNS.

DESCRIPTION:

This bulletin provides a Hi-Scan Pro inspection procedure to determine if the Engine Oil Control Valve operates normally. If it does not, replace the sub-engine assembly.

Vehicles Affected:
Model: 2007 Entourage (EP) vehicles produced from September 22, 2006 through October 20, 2006.

SERVICE PROCEDURE:

1. Place the shift lever in the "P" or "N" position and start the engine.





2. Connect a Hi-Scan Pro to the DLC connector.





3. Select the Current Data menu for the Entourage and scroll to "CAM BANK2 ACTUAL POS." and "CAM BANK2 DESIRE POS."

NOTE:
The screen to the right shows the NORMAL operation of the OCV at idle.





4. Depress the accelerator pedal and hold the engine speed at 2500 rpm. While holding the engine speed at 2500 rpm, check the values of "CAM BANK2 ACTUAL POS." and "CAM BANK2 DESIRE POS.".

NOTE:
The screen to the right shows the OCV operating ABNORMALLY.

When the engine speed is 2500 ,rpm.





5. After verifying the OCV operation is normal, no further procedure is needed. If the OCV operates abnormally replace the sub-engine assembly referring to the shop manual for the proper procedure.
