Service Procedure

SERVICE PROCEDURE:

1. Open the rear sliding door.





2. Using a trim removal tool, carefully remove the 2 rear door window trims (A).





3. Use a plier to remove the clip (B) and then remove the inside handle (C).





4. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unfasten the 2 screws (D1) and remove the trim (D).





5. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unfasten the 4 mounting screws and remove the rear door trim.

NOTE:
The photo to the right shows locations of the mounting screws.





6. Remove the rear door screen (E).





7. Disconnect the cables (F) and wiring connectors (G) that are connected to the Remote Controller Assembly.





8. Using a 10mm socket, remove the 4 Remote Controller mounting nuts.

Tightening Torque:
6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 Kgf.m; 5.1 - 8.0 lb.ft)

9. Using a 10mm socket, remove the power sliding door rear channel by unfastening the 2 nuts.





10. Disconnect the outside handle cable (H).





11. Remove the Remote Controller Assembly (I).





12. Using a Phllips screwdriver, remove the Remote Controller actuator mounting screws (7EA).





13. Remove the actuator cover (J).





14. Disconnect the 2 wires connected to the Remote Controller Motor (K) and remove the motor.





15. Install the new Remote Controller Motor Assembly.

IMPORTANT:
When installing the Remote Controller Motor, make sure to install with the two plastic ring tabs facing upward. See photo.

16. Install all the removed components in reverse order of removal.

17. After completing the reinstallation, conduct the initialization procedure for the power sliding door system as described below.

INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE:

1. Manually close and latch the sliding door.

2. Power the sliding door open using the door handle, center pillar switch, overhead console or the keyless transmitter.

3. Power the door close from the full open position.

4. Power the door open again to the full open position.

5. Initialization procedure complete.
