Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Adjustments

TRANSAXLE RANGE (TR) SWITCH

ADJUSTMENT
1. Set the select lever to the "N" position.
2. Loosen the control cable(A) to manual control lever flange nut(C) to free the cable and lever(B).





3. Set the manual control lever to the "N" position.
4. Loosen the transaxle range switch body mounting bolts and then turn the transaxle range switch body so the hole in the end of the manual control lever and the hole (cross section A-A in the figure) in the flange of the transaxle range switch body flange are aligned.
5. Insert the special tool to fix the manual control lever and switch body.
6. Tighten the transaxle range switch body mounting bolts to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 10-12Nm (100-120kgf.cm, 7-8lb-ft)

NOTE:
^ When setting up the switch body, be careful that the O-ring does not drop from the switch.
^ Tighten the mounting bolts carefully so that the position of the switch body does not move.





7. Check that the select lever is in the "N" position.
8. Adjust the adjusting nut(C) so that there is no slack in the control cable(A) and make sure that the select lever(B) operates smoothly.





9. Run the vehicle and confirm that the transaxle is set in each range when the select lever is shifted to each position.
