THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES TSB 11-BE-007 TO CORRECT BH GENESIS SMART KEY - STEERING LOCK TYPE MODEL YEAR APPLICABILITY.
DESCRIPTION:
This bulletin provides general information regarding Immobilizer Smart Keys, Electronic Steering Column Lock (ESCL) application by model, Key Cutting, and Key-Fobs. It is designed to assist you in finding key codes, immobilizer codes etc. This bulletin is not a substitute for other Hyundai service information already published.
MAIN TOPICS AND REFERENCE MATERIAL COVERED:
1. Smart Key and Electronic Steering Column Lock (ESCL) application table above. Vehicles equipped with a Smart Key immobilizer are not equipped with the steering lock feature. **See note below.
2. Basic Key Fob and related programming information including the maximum number of programmable PIC keys or Fobs by model.
3. Basic Key-cutting related information.
IMMOBILIZER (SMART KEY) AND ELECTRONIC STEERING COLUMN LOCK (ESCL) APPLICATION BY MODEL:
NOTE:
The terms Smart Key, Proximity Key, and PIC Key may be used interchangeably.
**Smart Key equipped vehicles DO NOT have a steering column lock feature with the exception of 2009 Genesis sedans and Veracruz LTD models built before April 2009.
Veracruz LTD models may be equipped with MSCL (Mechanical Steering Column Lock) as noted above. The 2009 BH Genesis models use ESCL (Electronic Steering Column Lock) feature to lock the steering wheel.
For reference, the MSCL and ESCL Systems are illustrated above. Other models use a standard type mechanical steering lock (abbreviated here as "Std. SL").
