Dimmer Switch: Service and Repair





Inspection

1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Remove the lower crash panel and then disconnect the rheostat connector.




3. Check for intensity of new rheostat switch. If the light intensity of the lamps changes smoothly without any flickering when the rheostat is turned, it can be assumed that the rheostat is normal.






Removal

1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Remove the lower crash panel (A).




3. Disconnect the connector (A) installed to lower crash panel.




4. Remove the switch assembly (A) from lower crash panel.




5. Remove the rheostat switch (A).






Installation

1. Install the rheostat switch to the switch assembly.
2. Install the switch assembly.
3. Install the lower crash panel.
