Repair Procedures
Removal
1. Turn ignition switch off and disconnect the battery (-) cable from the battery.
2. Release the parking brake by pulling the emergency release cable.
3. Remove the canister service cover in the trunk.
4. Remove the canister and the bracket.
5. Remove the EPB mounting nut.
Tightening torque:
8.8 - 13.7 Nm (0.9 - 1.4 kg.m, 6.5 - 10.1lb-ft)
6. Remove the second EPB bracket after removing the bolt.
Tightening torque:
8.8 - 13.7 Nm (0.9 - 1.4 kg.m, 6.5 - 10.1lb-ft)
7. Remove the EPB extension harness fixing clip after disconnecting the EPB connector.
8. Remove the rear brake disc.
9. Remove the parking brake cable after removing the bolt (A).
Tightening torque:
6.9 - 10.8 Nm (0.7 - 1.1kg.m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb-ft)
10. Remove the mounting bolt for parking brake cable.
Tightening torque:
8.8 - 13.7 Nm (0.9 - 1.4 kg.m, 6.5 - 10.1lb-ft)
11. Remove the first EPB bracket mounting bolt.
Tightening torque:
8.8 - 13.7 Nm (0.9 - 1.4 kg.m, 6.5 - 10.1lb-ft)
12. Remove the mounting bolt for emergency release cable.
Tightening torque:
8.8 - 13.7 Nm (0.9 - 1.4 kg.m, 6.5 - 10.1lb-ft)
13. Remove the EPB and the second bracket from the sub flame.
14. Remove the EPB from the second bracket after mounting nut (A).
Tightening torque:
8.8 - 13.7 Nm (0.9 - 1.4 kg.m, 6.5 - 10.1lb-ft)
15. If it needs, remove the heater protector after removing the bolt.
Tightening torque:
8.8 - 13.7 Nm (0.9 - 1.4 kg.m, 6.5 - 10.1lb-ft)
CAUTION:
1. Do not impact on the EPB.
2. Do not disassemble the EPB.
3. Operate the EPB switch after precise installation of the cable and all parts.
4. Do not pull the brake inner cable after assembly.
Installation
1. Installation is reverse of removal.
2. Inspect operation of the parking brake after installation.
