Component Inspection

IMPORTANT:
Follow all cautions warnings and notes in the ESM when working on or near a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) such as an airbag.

NOTE:
Refer to component locations.

Thermal Electric Device (TED)

Seat Cushion





a. Disconnect TED connector.

^ Connector # B505 - driver side

^ Connector # B515 - passenger side

b. Measure TED resistance across pin 31 (blue wire) and pin 32 (yellow wire).

^ Acceptable resistance value: 1.3 - 1.8 ohms.

^ Resistance value given at room temperature, or about 25°C /77°F.

c. If resistance value is more or less than listed above, replace the TED.

Seat Back





a. Disconnect TED connector.

^ Connector # B504 -driver side

^ Connector # B514 Passenger side

b. Measure TED resistance across pin 35 (blue wire) and pin 36 (yellow wire).

^ Acceptable resistance value: 1.3 - 1.8 ohms.

^ Resistance value given at room temperature or about 25°C / 77°F.

c. If resistance value is more or less than listed above replace the TED.

Thermal Electric Device (TED) Sensor

Seat Cushion





a. Disconnect TED connector.

^ Connector # B505 - driver side

^ Connector # B515 - passenger side

b. Measure TED sensor resistance across pin 33 (green wire) and pin 34 (also green wire).

^ Acceptable resistance value: Approximately 1000 ohms.

^ Resistance value given at room temperature or about 25°C / 77°F.

c. If resistance value is more or less than listed above replace the TED.

NOTE:
The sensor is part of the TED. To replace the sensor replace the TED.

Seat Back





a. Disconnect TED connector.

^ Connector # B504 - driver side

^ Connector # B514 - passenger side

b. Measure TED resistance across pin 37 (green wire) and pin 38 (also green wire).

^ Acceptable resistance value: 1.3 - 1.8 ohms.

^ Acceptable resistance value: Approximately 1000 ohms.

c. If resistance value is more or less than listed above, replace the TED.

NOTE:
The sensor is part of the TED. To replace the sensor replace the TED

Climate Controlled Seat Blower Motor

Check 1:






a. Disconnect the seat blower motor connector.

^ Connector # B506 - driver side

^ Connector # B516 - passenger side

b. Measure blower motor resistance across pin 39 (red wire) and pin 41 (black wire).

^ Acceptable resistance value: 600 - 800 ohms.

c. Resistance results:

^ Acceptable go to Check 2.

^ Not acceptable replace the blower motor.

Check 2:





a. Measure blower motor resistance across pin 40 (white wire) and pin 41 (black wire).

^ Acceptable resistance value: greater than 250000 (250K) ohms.

b. If resistance value is 250000 (250K) ohms or less replace the blower motor.
