Section C Adjust Sunshade Full Extend Position

Section C Adjust Sunshade Full Extend Position:

Incident 3: Sunshade will not retract at all from a fully up position (can be intermittent).

Incident 3 Cause:

To prevent the sunshade fabric from continuing to unroll if the sunshade frame is stopped due to outside interference, the sunshade motor assembly is equipped with a "slack detection function." It deactivates the motor if there is excess slack in the sunshade fabric.

The slack detection function can also operate if the upper limit switch does not trip before the sunshade frame reaches its fully extended position. If this occurs, the sunshade motor will not retract the sunshade when the console "DOWN" sunshade button is pressed.

Sunshade Adjustment Procedure:

First retract the sunshade by grasping the fabric on either side of the sunshade at its base. Pull up on the fabric to remove all slack while at the same time having an assistant push the console "DOWN" sunshade button.

NOTE: After completing the action above, the sunshade may appear to function properly. YOU MUST complete the Procedure noted below, since Incident 3 may reoccur if the Sunshade Fully Extend Position is not reset.

Then complete the Reset Sunshade Fully Extend Position Procedure, steps 1-7 to set the sunshade extended position to specifications.
