16. ENGINE SPEES DOES NOT RETURN TO IDLE

SYMPTOM:
When a shift-down is performed, the engine speed does not smoothly return to the idling speed.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
1 CHECK SELF-DIAGNOSIS RESULTS
Execute self-diagnosis.
Do the self-diagnosis results indicate a malfunction in the manual mode SW?
Yes >>
- Check the manual mode SW.
- Refer to "DTC P1815 MANUAL MODE SWITCH".
No >>GO TO 2.
2. CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR
Check the accelerator pedal position sensor.
- Refer to "DTC P0121 ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION (APP) SENSOR".
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 3.
NG >> Repair or replace the accelerator pedal position sensor.
3. CHECK SYMPTOM
Check again.
OK or NG
OK >> INSPECTION END
NG >>GO TO 4.
4. CHECK TCM INSPECTION
1. Perform TCM input/output signal inspection.
2. If NG, recheck TCM pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
OK or NG?
OK >> INSPECTION END
NG >>
1. Repair or replace damaged parts.
2. Replace the transmission assembly.
