IF YOU CONFIRM

The sunglass holder will not open or is slow to open.

ACTIONS

^ Replace the sunglass holder spring with the part listed in the Parts Information section of this bulletin.

^ DO NOT REPLACE the Console Assy. if the spring is missing or deformed.

^ If the spring pin is damaged this bulletin does not apply.

^ DO NOT REMOVE the Console Assy. from the vehicle, it is serviceable on the car.

IMPORTANT:
The purpose of ACTIONS (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing the repair.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Open the sunglass holder and remove the holder from the console.





^ Apply pressure inward on the spring side to release the sunglass holder from the console. See Figure 1.





2. Check to make sure the dampener and latch are securely installed. See Figure 2.





3. Install the new spring onto the post as shown in Figure 3.





4. Reinstall the sunglass holder by inserting the dampener side first. Then insert the side with the spring and push the bin forward to close.





Note:
When the post is installed the spring should rest on the pin (see Figure 5).

5. Check to see if this incident has been resolved by opening and closing the sunglass holder 3 times.
