Fuel System - Squeaking Noise From Accelerator Pedal

SQUEAK NOISE WHEN PRESSING ACCELERATOR PEDAL

This bulletin has been amended to include a parts information table only. No other changes have been made to the body of this bulletin.

IF YOU CONFIRM:

The Accelerator Pedal squeaks when being pressed.

ACTION:

Apply urethane foam pad from Squeak and Rattle Kit between the upper Accelerator Pedal Bracket and the Accelerator Pedal Assembly.

NOTE:
Refer to Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for procedure to remove and reinstall Accelerator Pedal Assembly and for Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning.

CLAIMS INFORMATION

Confirm that engine and ignition are off

1. Remove Accelerator Pedal Assembly





^ Figure 2 shown with Accelerator Pedal removed, and bracket circled in green.





> Pedal removed.





2. Attach piece of 1.5 by 2.0 inch foam, from "Squeak and Rattle Kit", to backside of Accelerator Assembly Bracket, with adhesive facing outward.

^ 2.0" x 1.5" precut urethane foam. Part number (76884-71L02).





3. Figure 4 shows foam attached to backside of bracket.





4. Side view of foam attached to backside of bracket.





5. Fold foam over and stick to front side of bracket.





6. Re-install Accelerator Pedal over bracket with foam installed.

7. Refer to ESM for Accelerator Pedal Self Learn Procedure.

8. After installing Accelerator Pedal Assembly over foam, confirm that the squeak noise is gone.
