IF YOU CONFIRM

During an electrical incident inspection, corrosion is found in a component behind the driver's side footwell or instrument panel.

ACTIONS

1. Find the source of the water leak (see Service Procedure).

2. Use 3M(R) Fast 'n Firm(R) Seam Sealer - or equivalent - to seal water leak(s).

3. Allow the sealer to cure, and then recheck for leaks.

4. Replace damaged components.

CLAIMS INFORMATION

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Apply water to the driver side lower windshield and cowl area with a garden hose at medium flow.

2. Continue to apply water until you find the source of the leak(s).

^ Check body seam seal areas, especially at the upper corner of the engine compartment where the cowl meets the windshield.





NOTE:
The above illustration is an example of a body seam seal leak that may cause the incidents described in this bulletin. Your vehicle may have a leak(s) in a different location on the driver side.

3. Seal water leak (body seam) with seam sealer:

^ Use 3M(TM) Fast 'n Firm(TM) Seam Sealer - part number 08505 - or equivalent.

^ Follow product application instructions.

4. Allow sealer to cure and then recheck for leaks.

^ Make sure the leak you fixed is sealed (not leaking).

^ Make sure there are no other leaks. It is possible to have more than one leak.

5. Replace corroded component(s) as needed.
