Indicators
Circuit OperationThe indicator lamps are controlled by different conditions set forth in their associated systems. See the associated system for the indicator lamp circuit description.
Low Fuel Warning Lamp
The powertrain (A/T) control module (PCM) monitors the fuel level by the resistance level in the fuel tank unit. The PCM then uses this information to provide ground through the multi-plexed indicator control unit to the low fuel warning lamp, illuminating it when the fuel level is low.
Bulb Check
With the starter switch in ON or START, battery voltage is applied through the C-11 METER fuse to the indicator lamps. The generator will provide ground to the circuit until the engine is running. The lamps go on to test the light bulbs and then go off after the engine is started.
