Removal

Heater Unit (Heater and Evaporator Unit)

Removal

1. Remove the blower ASM.
- Refer to Blower ASM.

2. Remove the foot ducts (LH and RH).
3. Remove the heater control cable.
- Disconnect the mode and temperature control cables from the heater unit.

4. Remove the connector of the electro thermostat.
5. Remove the nut from the fuse and relay box to lift the fuse and relay box from the reinforcement.
6. Drain the engine coolant.
7. Remove the heater hose.
- Remove the heater hose clip (4) to disconnect the hose from the heater unit. (When doing so, make sure to block the heater hose and heater unit to prevent excessive leakage of coolant from the hose or unit.)

8. Recover the A/C refrigerant (with A/C).
- Refer to Air Conditioning system for Recovery, Recycling, Evacuation and Charging.

9. Remove the fitting of the A/C pipe (with A/C).
- Remove the A/C pipe connecting bolt (2).
- Remove the nut (3) of the A/C pipe fixing stay.
- Upon disconnecting each pipe, ensure to cover the joint with a cap or cover to prevent foreign substances from entering the air-con cycle.

10. Remove the bolt (1) of the heater unit.






11. Remove the nut and bolt (vehicle interior) of the heater unit.
12. Remove the heater unit.
