Heater Core: Service and Repair

HEATER UNIT/CORE
Removal Procedure

1. Drain cooling system, then disconnect heater hoses.
2. Remove evaporator case assembly, refer to EVAPORATOR CORE AND EXPANSION VALVE.
2. Remove bolts securing heater case, then the heater case assembly.
3. Disconnect heater harness, then remove control unit, actuator shutter levers and resistor.
4. Disconnect harness, then remove control unit, actuator, control rods and levers.
5. Remove heater core tube seal and support.
6. Remove air duct, then the front and rear side case sections.
7. Remove case seal and case retaining clips, then separate left and right case halves.
8. Remove center upper, center and center lower air control doors, noting installation position.
9. Remove heater core from case.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
