Neutral Safety Switch: Description and Operation
Inhibitor Switch:
The Inhibitor Switch (park/neutral switch) is utilized to inform the ECM of gear selection on models with automatic transmission. The gear selection information is used by the ECM to permit starter motor operation (neutral safety) and control engine idle under various load conditions.
