BARO / MAP Sensor Switching Valve: Testing and Inspection

MAP Sensor Vacuum Switching Valve:

1. Remove vacuum lines from both vacuum switching valve (VSV) connections and attach a piece of test hose to MAP sensor side.

2. Blow on the test hose. With no power to the VSV, air should pass freely to intake manifold side and not from filter near MAP sensor connection.

3. Remove electrical connector and energize VSV with battery voltage. Air should now pass from filter near MAP sensor connection and not from intake manifold side.

4. Replace the VSV if it fails any of these tests.
