System Description

Fuel System:

Fuel Pump:

FUEL SUPPLY
Fuel is supplied by a mechanical fuel pump which draws fuel from fuel tank, through fuel lines and a fuel filter, to the carburetor. Excess fuel is returned to the tank through a bypass at the carburetor. The pump is operated by a push rod from camshaft eccentric to pump lever.

Carburetor:

AIR/FUEL METERING
Fuel metering is accomplished by a carburetor which is a progressive two-barrel downdraft type. Primary side has a relatively small bore, double venturis and a bridge nozzle. Primary fuel metering is accomplished with a duty solenoid (mixture control solenoid). Secondary side has one large bore and a secondary main metering system, which supplies fuel during heavy load conditions. For testing and operation of the feedback operation, refer to COMPUTERS AND CONTROL SYSTEMS.
