REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove air cleaner assembly.
2. Disconnect IAC valve electrical connector.
3. Using a suitable wrench remove valve, then discard gasket, Fig. 88.

INSTALLATION
If dimension ``A'' is greater than 1 1/8 inch, reduce as follows:
1. While turning IAC valve in clockwise direction, compress retaining spring.
2. Return spring to original position with straight part of spring aligned with flat surface of valve.
3. Thoroughly clean valve mating surfaces, then install IAC valve in throttle body using a new gasket or O-ring. Torque valve to 13 ft. lbs.
4. Connect IAC valve electrical connector.
5. Start engine and allow to reach operating temperature.
6. Reset the IAC valves as follows:
a. The IAC valve will reset when the ignition switch is turned to the On position for ten seconds, then turned off.
