DIAGNOSTIC CHART

Code 32-EGR System And Sensor Circuit:

Code 32 sets when the ECM recognizes malfunctions in the EGR system, including the EGR temperature sensor circuit.

Specified Reappearance Pattern:

1. If code 32 is indicated, also check for code 34 as directed on the diagnostic chart.

2. Check EGR valve shaft for lift (opening) when engine is run at partial throttle.

3. Check vacuum hoses for breaks, clogging, deformation and leakage. Repair as needed.

Vacuum Testing:

4. Perform vacuum tests of EGR valve, backpressure transducer (BPT) and thermal vacuum valve (TVV) as directed on diagnostic chart. These tests are fully described under EMISSION CONTROLS.
