SERVICE INFORMATION

On affected vehicles, upper radiator hose leakage may be caused by insufficient seal at the clamp. This condition can be eliminated by installing a new, improved clamp (see "Parts Information" section of this Service Bulletin).

This Service Bulletin contains instructions for properly installing the new, improved clamp in order to eliminate upper radiator hose leakage.


SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove and discard the existing upper radiator hose clamp.

2. Install a new, improved clamp to the thermostat housing (listed in "Parts Information" section of this Service Bulletin).

a. Install the new clamp above the raised part number on the thermostat housing (Figure 1). Do not install the clamp on the area of the thermostat housing that has the part number.

b. Tighten the clamp to 0.5 kg.m. (4 ft.lbs.).
