Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Trim Height

Fig. 2 Measurement locations for adjusting vehicle trim height:

When reattaching the trailing link or lateral link, trim height must be adjusted before tightening the bolts. Bushing will twist if the wheel center height becomes too great or less. Vehicle attitude will be adversely affected and will cause premature deterioration of rubber bushing.
1. Measure height (B) of bushing center at rear side on crossmember, Fig. 2.
2. Using a floor jack, hold the position of (A) wheel center 1.3 inches (33mm) higher than the rear lateral link bushing center as shown in Fig. 2.
3. Torque the trailing link retaining bolts to 94 ft. lbs., and lateral link retaining bolts to 116 ft. lbs.
