Pickup Coil

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable, then remove distributor cap.
2. Connect ohmmeter to either pick-up coil terminal and housing.
3. Ohmmeter reading should be infinite. If not as specified, replace coil.
4. Connect ohmmeter to both pick-up coil terminals, flex leads by hand at connector to locate intermittent opens.
5. Resistance reading should be a constant unchanging value between 500--1500 ohms. If reading is not as specified, replace coil.
