Distributor Removal

Remove or Disconnect


1. Negative batterv cable.
2. Air cleaner and hoses.
3. Wiring harness connectors at the side of the distributor cap.
4. Distributor cap and move it out of the way.

- Scribe a mark on the engine in line with the rotor.
- Note the position of the distributor housing in relation to the engine.

5. Distributor hold-down nut and clamp.
6. Distributor.

Install or Connect


-To ensure correct timing of the distributor it must be installed with the rotor correctly positioned as noted in the removal procedure.

-If the distributor shaft won't drop into the engine - insert a screwdriver into the hole for the distributor and turn the oil pump driveshaft.

2. Hold-down nut and clamp.
3. Distributor cap.
4. Wiring harness connector at the side of the cap.
5. Air cleaner and hoses.
6. Negative battery cable.
